Blockstream is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed directly within customer engineering teams, delivering enterprise Bitcoin and Layer-2 solutions into production. This is a hybrid role based in New York with significant travel to customer sites. You will own the full technical delivery lifecycle of Blockstream's enterprise products—from pre-sales and proof-of-concept through production deployment and post-launch support. Working alongside customer engineering, operations, and technology teams, you'll architect and implement integrations with core banking and capital-markets systems, deploy into highly secure on-premise and air-gapped environments, and ensure compliance with formal change control and audit requirements. Key responsibilities include: AI-assisted prototyping to rapidly validate product value; technical pre-sales support (RFPs, security questionnaires, SOW scoping); designing and implementing enterprise integrations using modern data pipeline technologies; troubleshooting complex technical and configuration challenges; developing reusable deployment playbooks and documentation; and facilitating technical workshops and architecture discussions. You'll act as the technical bridge between customers and Blockstream, translating business requirements into scalable solutions while gathering implementation insights that improve products and delivery methodology. You'll also partner with Product Management and Engineering to identify repeatable deployment patterns and shape the product roadmap based on real-world customer implementations. Required: 4–8 years in Software Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, or Enterprise Software Delivery. Proficiency in at least one systems/backend language (Python, Go, Rust) to build and ship integrations independently. Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, cloud technologies, security fundamentals, and modern software architectures. Proven ability to work directly with enterprise customers, translate requirements into technical solutions, and manage multiple engagements independently. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and customer-facing communication skills. Willingness to travel regularly.
