As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will embed with customer engineering teams to help them adopt and maximize Blitzy's platform. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and complex enterprise software, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong customer-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy Blitzy into complex enterprise environments, translating business goals into technical solutions
- Embed with customer teams during critical implementations, partnering on sprint planning, architecture reviews, and production deployments
- Build production-quality integrations and services using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Actuator)
- Develop REST APIs using contract-first approach with OpenAPI/Swagger, with PostgreSQL and Hibernate/JPA for data persistence
- Package and deploy containerized services with Docker, manage dependencies through Maven
- Debug complex issues spanning customer infrastructure, integrations, microservices, and the Blitzy platform
- Drive successful POCs and technical demonstrations showcasing advanced use cases
- Maintain high standards for testing, code quality, performance, and observability (JUnit 5, Cucumber/Gherkin, JMeter, Logback/SLF4J, SpotBugs, SonarQube)
- Identify recurring customer needs and technical patterns to inform product priorities
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate field experience into platform improvements and best practices
The role requires working in-person from Pune with regular overlap for collaboration with US-based teams. You'll partner with customer stakeholders across regions and help engagements transition from kickoff to steady-state independence.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with proven track record shipping production code in enterprise environments
- Deep hands-on expertise with Java 17, Spring Boot 3.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and Actuator
- Strong experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Maven, Docker, and modern testing practices (JUnit 5, Cucumber/Gherkin, JMeter)
- Experience building and operating microservices with CI/CD, cloud architecture, observability, and production monitoring tools (Micrometer, Dynatrace, SpotBugs, SonarQube)
- Knowledge of enterprise modernization and distributed systems, including Java upgrades, monolith-to-microservices migrations, Kafka, Avro, Schema Registry, caching, and resilience patterns
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and modern software development practices with ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Plus: experience in customer-facing engineering, developer tools, AI/ML, or enterprise modernization; technical thought leadership through blogs, talks, or open-source contributions
- Passion for AI-powered software development and willingness to work in-person from Pune with US team overlap
