Anthropic is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join the Applied AI team in Paris. In this role, you will embed directly with strategic enterprise customers to drive transformational AI adoption and ship advanced AI applications that solve real business problems.
You will work closely with customer teams, post-sales, product, and engineering to understand customer workflows and develop innovative solutions using Claude models. Responsibilities include developing production applications with Claude, delivering technical artifacts (MCP servers, sub-agents, agent skills), providing deployment assistance in enterprise environments, identifying reproducible deployment patterns, and maintaining deep knowledge of LLM capabilities and AI product development stacks.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop production AI applications within customer systems using Claude models
- Deliver technical artifacts such as MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills for production workflows
- Provide deployment support for Anthropic products in enterprise environments
- Identify and codify reproducible deployment patterns; share insights with Product and Engineering teams
- Stay current with latest LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI development technologies
- Build long-term customer relationships and proactively identify new AI deployment opportunities
- Travel frequently (25-50%) to customer sites to build personal relationships
- Champion Anthropic's mission in the field
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years in a technical customer-facing role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, consulting software engineer, or technical founder)
- Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and large-scale deployment
- Strong programming skills in Python and ideally TypeScript, Java, or similar languages; experience shipping production applications
- High execution capability and ability to thrive in ambiguity
- Strong collaboration skills and passion for safe, beneficial AI systems
- Excellent communication skills for exploratory customer discussions and translating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
Preferred: experience in financial services, healthcare/life sciences, or other regulated industries; familiarity with enterprise IT systems and AI deployment models.
