Notion is seeking a Forward Deployed Architect for its Tokyo office to help enterprise customers unlock the full potential of Notion's AI-native workspace platform. In this customer-facing role, you will partner directly with large organizations to translate their business goals and workflow requirements into scalable Notion architectures that drive measurable adoption and value. You will own the full engagement lifecycle: discovery and current-state workflow mapping, solution design and architecture, hands-on implementation of AI-native workflows using Notion AI, custom agents, automations, and the Developer Platform, adoption planning, and successful launch. You'll design scalable workspace architectures that account for customer governance, integration, and permission needs, then help teams navigate change through enablement and sustained usage tracking. This role sits at the center of Notion's workflow-led go-to-market motion in Japan. You will be a trusted technical advisor, simplifying complex requirements, making practical tradeoff recommendations, and helping stakeholders align on implementation paths. You'll identify repeatable patterns across engagements and convert them into packaged solutions, templates, and reference architectures. Cross-functional collaboration with GTM, Product, Engineering, and Services leadership is core to scaling successful approaches. Required: 5+ years in tech services, solutions architecture, implementation, customer engineering, or similar customer-facing roles. You must demonstrate strong consultative discovery skills, hands-on AI builder mindset, technical fluency with APIs, integrations, data models, and automation (no production coding required, but you must reason through technical constraints). Proven track record delivering implementations that drive adoption and long-term customer value. Exceptional project management, executive presence, and communication skills across business, technical, and executive audiences. Fluent written and spoken Japanese is essential to communicate directly with customers, partners, and internal teams. Nice-to-haves: experience designing or deploying agents, automations, or AI-powered workflows with customers; familiarity with Notion, APIs, MCPs, Workers, or developer platform workflows.
