Sila Nanotechnologies is a next-generation battery materials company on a mission to power the world's transition to clean energy. They engineer and manufacture breakthrough battery materials that significantly increase energy density while reducing size and weight, enabling smaller, more powerful batteries for consumer devices and electric vehicles.
You will be a forward-deployed application developer embedded with Engineering, Operations, Battery, Finance, and Supply Chain teams. Your role bridges sophisticated data modeling with world-class user experiences, translating complex needs of battery engineers and operations teams into elegant, actionable software solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Embedded Product Development: Work directly with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and build bespoke software solutions that accelerate the "bits-to-atoms" cycle.
• Modern Front-End Engineering: Design and implement sophisticated, responsive user interfaces using React and modern state management. Create high-density data visualizations that make complex battery performance data intuitive and actionable.
• Application Data Layer Architecture: Design and evolve Snowflake schemas and data models optimized for high-performance application interfaces, supporting both rapid transactional workflows and deep analytical exploration.
• Data Orchestration: Use dbt and Airflow to clean, transform, and move data into application-ready schemas, ensuring end-to-end data integrity.
• Modern Observability: Deploy Datadog, Sumo Logic, and StatsD to monitor user interaction patterns and application health, ensuring high availability for business-critical workflows.
• AI-Forward Features: Deploy Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns to build smart tools allowing engineering teams to query technical specs, experimental results, and financial data using natural language.
Required qualifications: 6+ years (MS) or 8+ years (BS) of professional software development experience. Expert proficiency in React, TypeScript, Python (FastAPI/Flask), Snowflake, and dbt. Advanced experience with Airflow, Terraform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and RAG architectures. Proven track record building complex internal tools for Operations, Engineering, Finance, or Supply Chain teams with emphasis on user-centric design. B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, HCI, or related engineering field. Strong bias for action and ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
