Salary: USD 120,000 - 150,000 / annual

Skyryse is developing advanced flight control and automation technology to make aviation safer and more accessible. As a Flight Test Engineer, you will be central to validating and refining this technology through rigorous flight testing programs. You will design and develop detailed test plans and procedures with safety as the paramount concern. Working alongside the flight test and guidance, navigation & control (GNC) teams, you'll manage and operate flight instrumentation—often systems you've designed yourself—to ensure accurate and successful test execution. Key responsibilities include: - Developing Go/NoGo decision parameters and conducting comprehensive post-flight data analysis - Collaborating with aircraft integration teams to ensure all instrumentation is flight-safe - Supporting flight issue (squawk) creation, tracking, and closure with proper documentation - Planning, organizing, and leading ground-based data collection tests that support flight campaigns - Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations - Running flight test planning sessions, flight readiness reviews, and pre/post-flight briefs and debriefs - Analyzing flight test data using MATLAB/Simulink and advanced software tools to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues - Ensuring accuracy in data collection methods and instrumentation calibration - Communicating test priorities and findings effectively across teams - Completing all required documentation per company procedures Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related discipline; 4+ years of professional experience; and demonstrated experience with flight test operations and Safety Management Systems. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in aerospace engineering; 6+ years as a Flight Test Engineer on civil or military aircraft (rotorcraft experience preferred); experience writing flight test plans for FAA certification programs; proficiency with MATLAB for data analysis and report generation; understanding of flight instrumentation and signal processing; familiarity with handling qualities rating scales; and rotorcraft helicopter flight characteristics expertise.
