Salary: USD 118,000 - 238,000 / annual

Heart Aerospace is developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane designed to carry 30 passengers with a 200 km zero-emission electric range and 800 km extended hybrid range. The company is targeting type certification by the end of the decade. As a Flight Systems Engineer on the Mechanisms team, you will own system-level design, bring-up, debugging, and certification of distributed systems across the ES-30 aircraft. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration across flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety engineering disciplines. Key responsibilities include: - Lead design of essential aircraft systems through cross-functional collaboration - Conduct in-vehicle debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system-level issues spanning electrical, mechanical, and software domains - Support prototype aircraft bring-up, integration test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and virtual simulation platforms - Create and execute system-level integration plans for complete systems or subsystems - Contribute to software verification and validation strategy aligned with DO-178C objectives You bring 2+ years of experience in system integration, ideally in aerospace or automotive domains. You have strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN), and system-level integration practices. You're proficient in Rust, C/C++, or Python for automation and testing, with experience in version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and integration frameworks. A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, or related field is required. Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, DO-331, or other safety-critical standards is a plus. Passion for aircraft and aviation electrification is valued.
