ICEYE is a space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) company delivering synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology and Earth Observation capabilities to governments and allied nations. You will build and lead a new Flight Software team in Warsaw, developing flight software for ICEYE's Optical Payload. This role reports to the Director of Flight Software and combines hands-on technical leadership with team building and mentorship.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading a new Flight Software team, setting technical direction and supporting team growth
- Mentoring and guiding engineers through feedback, planning, and hands-on technical leadership
- Developing and overseeing payload flight software including hardware interfaces, telemetry, updates, and system services
- Collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, FPGA, systems, ground software, test, AIT, and operations teams
Required qualifications:
- Experience developing software for Linux-based embedded systems
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Rust
- Proven experience mentoring, supporting, or leading software engineers
- Ability to work across software, hardware, and system-level interfaces
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience with Python or shell scripting
- Background in high-reliability systems (robotics, telecom, automotive, industrial automation, or defense)
- Interest in building inclusive, collaborative engineering cultures
