Salary: USD 129,000 - 220,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to develop and scale HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and integration test infrastructure. This role focuses on building robust software systems that enable rapid testbed configuration, management, and execution across multiple autonomous platforms—from Group 5 aircraft to autonomous boats and space-based systems. Key responsibilities include: - Designing and implementing an integration test framework capable of executing tests across SITL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HITL environments - Creating scalable infrastructure for testbed configuration management and lifecycle operations - Enabling secure, shared access to hardware resources across OPSEC isolation boundaries - Proliferating common HITL and test infrastructure across diverse programs within Anduril's Autonomous Defense & Sustainment organization - Supporting real-time simulation, avionics integration, and closed-loop testing with physical hardware Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical discipline - Advanced proficiency with Python - Familiarity with C/C++ - Hands-on experience with HITL or SITL simulation operations, including test setup, execution, and debugging - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance Preferred qualifications include advanced C/C++ proficiency, experience developing subsystem and system-level models, flight test support experience, expertise with avionics interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, serial protocols), and demonstrated ability to operate HITL labs supporting multiple concurrent programs.
