ICEYE is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to develop embedded software systems for SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites. You will work on embedded Linux flight software powering ICEYE's spacecraft, building efficient user-space applications for flight computers that operate in orbit. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining flight software, troubleshooting complex multi-component systems, managing software packages and hardware devices in Unix-like environments, configuring CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with hardware and spacecraft subsystem teams.
The role requires strong C++ and Python programming skills with proven experience delivering commercially successful embedded Linux software. You must have hands-on experience with Buildroot and Yocto build systems, deep understanding of Unix-like systems including package management and device handling, and expertise configuring and managing build systems and CI/CD pipelines. Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across embedded and distributed systems are essential, along with excellent written and verbal English communication.
Nice-to-have qualifications include Linux kernel space development expertise, Docker or containerization experience, familiarity with message-passing frameworks and distributed asynchronous systems, open-source contributions, ability to read electronic schematics, additional programming languages, and interest in LLM-based engineering tools.
