ICEYE is seeking a Flight Software Deployment Engineer to join the Build & Release team, responsible for the critical path from source code to flight-ready software across growing satellite constellations. This hybrid role (3 days in office) is based in Warsaw, Poland or Espoo, Finland, and reports to the Flight Software Build & Release Team Lead. In this role, you will own hands-on software engineering of ICEYE's satellite on-board updating system, designing and maintaining features, tests, and documentation for deploying software and firmware updates to satellites in orbit. You'll contribute to the build layer across the flight software domain, ensuring every repository is built, versioned, and packaged consistently. A core responsibility is enforcing immutable releases and hardening packaging and signing pipelines through least-privilege permissions, pinned workflows, dependency management, approvals, and proper signing key management. You will collaborate closely with the Linux platform team on how updates land on satellite on-board computers, covering packaging format, filesystem layout, and access control to ensure clean and safe installations. Required qualifications include embedded software engineering experience with hands-on embedded Linux development (cross-compilation for ARM or similar targets, kernel configuration, device tree overlays, root filesystem and image construction). You must have production CI/CD experience for compiled artifacts with specific GitHub Actions expertise and workflow hardening experience. Working proficiency in C and C++ build environments is essential, along with Python and Bash for automation. Experience implementing release integrity controls, immutable artifact storage, signing key management, PKI, trust chains, AWS object-lock storage, and cloud key management is required. You should have shipped software to embedded devices in the field using package-based update mechanisms (ideally opkg) under controlled release processes and quality gates. Nice-to-have skills include CMake expertise (multi-repository setups, toolchain files, shared build infrastructure), and Buildroot experience. This is a permanent position subject to applicable security screening.
