CesiumAstro is seeking a Flight Director to lead systems engineering activities for complex spacecraft and aerospace systems. This role is responsible for defining, developing, integrating, verifying, and operating satellite, UAV, launch vehicle, and airborne communication platforms throughout their product lifecycle.
The Flight Director translates customer requirements and mission objectives into technical solutions while providing technical leadership for mission execution, operational readiness, and on-orbit spacecraft operations. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, collaborating closely with software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, integration and test, ground systems, and program teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading systems engineering activities across the full product lifecycle from concept through launch and mission operations
- Translating customer requirements and mission objectives into technical architecture and solutions
- Providing technical leadership for mission execution and on-orbit operations
- Driving system integration and technical decision-making
- Ensuring systems meet technical, operational, cost, and schedule objectives
- Supporting cross-functional collaboration across engineering disciplines
- Ensuring operational readiness and mission success
This is a hands-on, interactive role in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. CesiumAstro develops pioneering out-of-the-box communication systems for space and airborne platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate, collaborative, energetic, and forward-thinking.
