Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual

As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop core low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers used across multiple defense products including Menace, Dive-XL, Ghost, and Roadrunner. These systems operate on land, sea, and air platforms. You will work closely with the Electrical Engineering team to develop hardware and software solutions to complex defense challenges.
Key responsibilities include: developing low-level firmware for microcontrollers and creating reusable device drivers; owning complex firmware features of embedded systems; debugging and troubleshooting issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries; selecting microcontrollers and peripherals while reviewing schematics with the electrical engineering team; and managing concurrent involvement in multiple projects at various stages.
Required qualifications: BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience); 3+ years of firmware/embedded software development experience; strong C coding ability for embedded systems; experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors; firmware development in bare-metal or RTOS environments; debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers; solid understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging; experience with common bus protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet); U.S. Person status required due to export control restrictions.
Preferred qualifications include experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC), bias for action in problem-solving, and natural curiosity about technologies and tools.
