Salary: USD 132,000 - 198,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Connected Warfare team builds and deploys modern command and control systems like the Menace Family-of-Systems, powered by Lattice OS—an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers.
As a Firmware Engineer on the Connected Warfare team, you will be the critical link between Electrical Engineering and the broader software stack. You'll own end-to-end firmware development for autonomous systems like Menace-I, from initial board bring-up and driver development through system-level integration and field testing. You'll solve complex technical challenges at the hardware-software boundary, working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Electrical Engineering team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop low-level firmware and software for microcontrollers
- Create reusable device drivers for sensors and peripherals
- Integrate system-level features and architect changes to support a growing codebase
- Debug and troubleshoot issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software domains
- Review schematics with the electrical engineering team
- Bring new hardware to life through real-time microcontroller code and cross-disciplinary problem-solving
Required qualifications: BS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience; strong C coding ability for embedded systems; experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors; firmware development in bare-metal or RTOS environments; solid understanding of coding best practices, board bring-up, and debugging; familiarity with common bus protocols (Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485); U.S. Persons status required for access to export-controlled data.
Preferred qualifications include experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC), debugging with JTAG/SWD/oscilloscopes/logic analyzers, bias for action, and natural curiosity about technologies and tools.
