Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Firmware Team develops core embedded software used across multiple defense platforms including Barracuda, Dive-LD, Altius, and Roadrunner, working closely with electrical engineering to solve complex customer challenges.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop low-level embedded software in C for microcontrollers across multiple product platforms and build comprehensive test procedures to verify firmware behavior against requirements. You'll debug issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries, support board bring-up and hardware-firmware integration with cross-functional teams, and maintain requirements traceability to ensure every requirement has a corresponding test. You'll contribute to multiple projects at various stages from prototype through production, working alongside senior engineers to update requirements and grow your embedded systems expertise on real defense platforms that ship in months, not years.
Required: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience; 2+ years of firmware/embedded software development; solid C coding for embedded systems; experience with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, or similar); familiarity with board bring-up, debugging tools, and coding best practices; exposure to writing or executing test procedures for embedded firmware; strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; U.S. Person status due to export-controlled information access.
Preferred: Experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.); real-time operating systems; hardware-in-the-loop testing; defense or aerospace industry background.
