Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Tactical Recon & Strike team develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all supporting equipment for testing, deployment, and operations. Products include Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius systems, powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop and deliver features to the firmware layer that underpins all Tactical Recon & Strike products. Your responsibilities include:
- Develop robust, high-confidence software/firmware for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, and integrate system-level features
- Enable rapid development iteration by quickly debugging and troubleshooting hardware issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Work cross-functionally with Electrical, Software, and Product Design teams from prototype design through customer deployment
- Collaborate with Test Engineering to streamline high-yield production and manufacturing of hardware products
- Support product field testing to quantify customer value and identify firmware feature opportunities with high program impact
Required qualifications: 5+ years developing software/firmware for embedded systems; BS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent; experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors in bare-metal or RTOS environments; strong C coding ability; solid understanding of software development best practices, debugging approaches, and board bringup methodology; familiarity with IC bus protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet); clear communication skills; eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: MS in CS/CE/EE; experience with microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC); firmware/hardware debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers; growth mindset and continuous learning orientation.
