Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Imaging team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems combining hardware and software, leveraging computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data to provide warfighters and allies with critical advantages.
As a Firmware Engineer on the Imaging team, you will design and develop firmware for new product lines from concept through production. You'll work with an interdisciplinary technical team to define requirements, complete design and analysis, build prototypes, conduct ground and flight testing, and mature prototypes into deployable products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design firmware for embedded hardware across the full lifecycle: concept, functional prototype, board bring-up, and system-level integration
- Write C/C++ code for ARM processors in modern FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs
- Troubleshoot issues spanning electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs) and software debugging tools
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers on component selection, troubleshooting, and product support
- Work across electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineering teams to deliver fully functional products
- Develop firmware across multiple products at various development stages
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years developing firmware for embedded processors using C/C++
- Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, etc.)
- Experience testing, supporting, and troubleshooting complex hardware and embedded systems
- Proficiency with test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current probes, and test automation
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred qualifications include 5+ years FPGA experience, familiarity with communication buses (SPI, I2C, CAN), embedded software development with timers and interrupts, Xilinx FPGA and real-time systems experience, component selection and PCB design knowledge, and embedded Linux development expertise.
