The Financial Crime Operations team sits at the forefront of Revolut's efforts to keep customers and their money safe. As a Financial Crime Escalations Officer, you will serve as the second line of defence in the company's financial crime prevention framework, performing high-quality reviews of escalated cases and making critical decisions on sanctions, KYC/KYB, and AML/CTF matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the escalation point and ensuring rigorous review of cases escalated from first-line defence (sanctions, KYC/KYB, AML/CTF)
- Supporting responses to regulatory inquiries and requests from local authorities, including statutory reporting
- Responding to queries requiring second-line defence review
- Supporting management reporting and financial crime compliance oversight activities
- Collaborating with the MLRO's team to escalate significant cases and report emerging trends
- Monitoring and detecting rare and/or new patterns in financial crime activity
- Participating in projects, training, and implementation of new processes
- Reviewing policies and procedures and advising on necessary changes
You will work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues, using cutting-edge technology and sharp attention to detail to prevent financial crime and maintain trust.
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (required)
- Experience as a Compliance/FinCrime Officer in a major financial institution
- Exposure in FinCrime operations, having acted as an escalation point
- Deep knowledge of AML and sanctions regulations
- Experience operating a variety of internal and external systems and databases to complete investigations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to analyse complex information, identify key issues, and drive resolutions
- Ability to present summaries and proposed conclusions to management in a timely and clear manner, including appropriate risk mitigation and monitoring steps
- Understanding of payment systems and markets with focus on technology and mobile applications
