Lendable is a UK-based fintech unicorn (800+ employees, profitable since 2017, backed by Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs) expanding into the US market. The company has rebuilt consumer finance products—loans, credit cards, and car finance—with modern technology and rapid funding (minutes instead of days).
As Financial Crimes Program Manager, you will be a key operational contributor to the BSA/AML compliance program for US personal loans and credit cards products. This is a critical role ensuring the company protects the financial system from money laundering and terrorist financing.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day AML, BSA, KYC/CIP, and OFAC controls; maintain program documentation and policies
- Conduct periodic BSA/AML risk assessments and enhance the program as products evolve
- Own periodic and ad hoc reporting to partner banks (314(a), OFAC) and internal stakeholders (senior leadership, quarterly Board reports)
- Investigate alerts and escalations; prepare Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) for BSA Officer review
- Perform sanctions screening and AML transaction-monitoring alert disposition
- Maintain investigative findings and due diligence records per retention requirements
- Identify automation opportunities to scale the financial crimes program with company growth
- Partner with Operations, Product, and Engineering on onboarding and transaction monitoring tool integration
- Support front-line queues during backlog clearance and peak volume periods
- Respond to audit, exam, and bank partner requests
You will work in a small, resourceful team at a fast-growing fintech, trusted to make decisions with material impact from day one.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
- Deep knowledge of US regulatory scheme: BSA, AML, KYC/CIP, OFAC (FCPA/ABC familiarity is a plus)
- Proven compliance function experience, particularly in alert disposition, case management, and investigative workflows
- Analytical mindset; comfortable diving into data to investigate alerts and identify suspicious patterns; detail-oriented in documentation
- Bias for action with genuine curiosity and urgency; ability to navigate ambiguity and make smart, risk-based decisions in fast-growing fintech
- Strong communication skills; ability to engage with bank partners and regulators while influencing internal Product and Ops stakeholders
Desirable:
- Experience in both US Personal Loans (pre-origination) and Credit Cards (post-origination transaction monitoring)
- Proficiency with tools: Alloy, ComplyAdvantage, Marqeta, Preset, Snowflake, or Redash
