The Financial Crime Compliance Lead will join the second line of defence within Revolut's Financial Crime team, which blends regulatory expertise with data-driven thinking to ensure products meet legal and policy requirements while preventing financial crime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update group FinCrime policies, defining minimum standards for FinCrime processes across the organisation
- Oversee quarterly performance of entity MLROs (Money Laundering Reporting Officers) and compliance managers
- Provide oversight and support for identification, remediation, and resolution of FinCrime-related risk incidents
- Assist senior management in defining standards to manage financial crime risks and ensure organisation-wide application
- Offer second line of defence support to business teams, first line FinCrime teams, and entity MLRO teams during product launches and process/system implementations
- Ensure FinCrime risks are integrated into day-to-day operations
- Participate in FinCrime governance committees to challenge initiatives, identify issues, and propose solutions
- Establish, maintain, and review dashboards to identify areas outside risk appetite
- Prepare reports for senior management, group committees, and the Board, escalating key or high-risk compliance issues
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in FinCrime (AML/CTF and sanctions) covering retail and business customers, including KYC, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and SARs
- Strong understanding of innovative financial services products and their associated financial crime risks
- Knowledge of anti-financial crime frameworks, regulatory recommendations, risk management best practices, and control arrangements in complex financial organisations
- Excellent knowledge of global financial crime control requirements
- Solid understanding of industry-wide financial crime practices and trends
- Expertise in identifying financial crime risks and vulnerabilities, and advising on best practices
- Strong track record of stakeholder management with ability to collaborate, negotiate, and communicate effectively
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have:
- Professional qualification from internationally recognised body (e.g., ICA, ACAMS)
- Experience in crypto, wealth and trading, and/or correspondent banking
- Familiarity with anti-fraud and control assessment processes
