Rho is a modern banking platform designed for the AI era, enabling startups and growth-stage companies to open accounts, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close books in one integrated platform with human support. The Financial Crime Analyst role is a core position supporting Rho's fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) strategy and operations. Working alongside the Financial Crime lead, you will analyze fraud and AML alerts to identify, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity and suspicious transactions. Key responsibilities include conducting transaction monitoring reviews against AML/BSA typologies, preparing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with proper documentation, and assisting customers with fraud-related inquiries and incident resolution. You will maintain audit-ready investigation records, collaborate cross-functionally with Client Services, Financial Operations, Compliance, and Transaction Monitoring teams, and perform root cause analyses on fraud and AML event vectors. Additional duties include supporting KYC/CIP and customer due diligence (CDD/EDD) reviews while maintaining department productivity and quality standards. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in fraud risk, AML/BSA, or payments operations within banking and financial services. You should be proficient with Excel, Google Workspace, Looker, and Slack, with strong knowledge of compliance and payment regulations including Reg E, NACHA, AML/BSA, KYC/CIP, OFAC, FinCEN, and SAR/CTR filing requirements. Understanding how to leverage AI to improve investigation efficiency and alert quality is valued. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and take ownership, are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with Micro SMB/SMB business cards, payments, or lending; high-growth fintech or neobank environments; U.S. fraud and AML risk across ACH, Card, Checks, and Wires; CAMS certification; and familiarity with case management systems like Actimize, Sardine, Alloy, or Unit21.
