Salary: USD 105,000 - 120,000 / annual
TuneCore, a leading independent music distribution and publishing administration platform owned by Paris-based Believe, is seeking a Financial & Business Performance Analyst to support financial planning, performance analysis, and decision-making across the business.
In this role, you will deliver accurate forecasts, clear reporting, and actionable insights by partnering closely with cross-functional teams. You will analyze financial and operational data, explain results, and improve visibility into key performance drivers. By translating complex information into practical recommendations and connecting financial outcomes to music, publishing, and catalog dynamics, you will help ensure informed decisions in a fast-paced, content-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include:
**Financial Planning & Analysis**
- Support preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts across departments
- Analyze actuals vs. budget, identifying key variances, trends, risks, and opportunities
- Maintain financial tracking tools and support budget control processes
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end reporting activities
**Business Performance & Reporting**
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and performance drivers
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Support ad hoc analyses for business cases, resource planning, and strategic initiatives
**Cross-Functional Partnership**
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and explain results
- Present findings in a clear and practical way to support decision-making
- Contribute to improving reporting processes, data quality, and overall financial visibility
**Industry-Specific Analysis (Preferred)**
- Support analysis related to music, publishing, royalties, or catalog performance
- Help connect financial outcomes to underlying business drivers in a dynamic, content-driven environment
The role is based in TuneCore's Dumbo, Brooklyn office and operates on a hybrid model. Employees have the option to work from the office 13 days per month on a flexible schedule organized at the department level.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, controlling, or business performance roles
- Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-finance audiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Experience in music, publishing, media, or entertainment is a plus
