Form Energy is a manufacturing and energy technology company developing long-duration iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage. The company has been recognized by TIME, MIT Technology Review, and Fast Company for innovation in climate tech, and is now scaling production at its first high-volume manufacturing facility in West Virginia with contracts signed by leading US utilities.
As a Financial Analyst on the Supply Chain Finance team, you will be a critical member responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on Form's material costs—the company's largest cost driver—as production scales. You will report to the Supply Chain Finance Lead and collaborate closely with Global Sourcing Managers, Accounting, and Logistics partners to maintain clean, current, audit-ready cost data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning cost tracking for the bill of materials (BOM), partnering with GSMs to capture quotes, validate cost roll-ups, and identify missing or outdated items
- Supporting the purchase approval process and tracking spend against budget during production ramp-up
- Assisting with factory scrap tracking, identifying variances against forecast, and building reporting that feeds into cost forecasts
- Identifying and executing cost-savings measures across Logistics (expedite reduction, load optimization, tariff exposure) as production scales
- Preparing quarterly KPI reviews and biweekly cost syncs with executives, compiling trended cost data and variance commentary
- Partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, Logistics, and GSMs to ensure material cost data accuracy and timeliness
- Supporting ad hoc supply chain finance initiatives such as transportation management system (TMS) rollout, make-vs-buy analyses, and tariff/duty exposure tracking
This role offers deep fluency in manufacturing supply chain and cost analysis with real ownership over work that rolls up to executive-level reporting. You will need strong analytical and Excel skills, high ownership, and the ability to navigate startup ambiguity. The role requires looking beyond numbers to understand what drives Form's material costs and communicating insights clearly to the team. Relocation assistance is available.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience; manufacturing or supply chain background preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Strong Excel and analytical skills; comfort digging into large, complex datasets to find and resolve discrepancies
- Strong attitude and genuine willingness to learn on the job—curiosity and follow-through matter as much as prior experience
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners (GSMs, Accounting, Logistics)
- Meticulous attention to detail and ownership in running down open items to closure
- Proactive communication style, comfortable reporting status and variances to management
