As Finance Manager, you will be the primary finance operations leader reporting to the CFO, owning the full finance function across accounting, billing, payroll, treasury, and systems. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic oversight and operational execution.
Key responsibilities include:
**Accounting & Close**: Own the monthly close calendar and cadence, reviewing work from an outsourced India controller team. Manage reconciliations, accruals, prepaid and fixed-asset schedules, revenue recognition for hardware-enabled subscriptions, and inventory accounting (finished goods, spare parts, consignment, WIP). Prepare monthly financial packages with variance commentary. Manage audit and tax-provider relationships, including PBC lists and support schedules.
**Billing & Accounts Receivable**: Own the customer master, deployment-triggered invoicing, sales tax application, collections, and AR reconciliation. Document billing processes and establish sales-to-finance handoff controls.
**Payroll, Benefits & Equity**: Process payroll through Rippling (PEO), including commissions, bonuses, and salary changes. Administer benefits, 401(k) enrollment, workers' comp, and EPLI (strategy and negotiations remain with CFO). Handle routine Carta administration including grants, exercises, cap-table hygiene, 409A uploads, and FMV updates.
**Treasury, AP & Compliance**: Manage AP and vendor relationships, weekly cash position, 13-week cash forecasts, and bank administration. Own sales tax, state registrations, compliance calendar, and filings support. Handle vendor and customer insurance certificate requests.
**FP&A & Reporting**: Maintain actuals in the financial model, support budget-vs-actual reporting by department. Build and maintain recurring board and investor reporting (ARR, retention, unit economics, asset base) from system data.
**Systems**: Lead the ERP implementation (data migration, testing, documentation) and serve as post-go-live system administrator. Own the fixed-asset register and its reconciliation to deployment data.
