You will oversee Viz.ai's Israeli accounting operations while providing hands-on financial analysis, business partnering, and reporting to the global finance team. This is a hybrid manager role with substantial individual contributor responsibilities, combining people management with direct execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting Operations & Management:
- Directly manage and develop the Israeli Staff Accountant, providing guidance, reviews, and hands-on problem-solving
- Review and oversee accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, corporate allocations, and equity close activities
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure corrections are completed with proper documentation
- Develop deep working knowledge of recurring accounting processes and systems
- Document critical processes and maintain capability to cover essential activities during absences
- Coordinate with external accounting, payroll, audit, and tax providers
- Improve close procedures and financial controls while maintaining appropriate approval structures
Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare analysis and complete recurring finance deliverables for US finance leadership
- Maintain and update financial models including actuals, forecasts, assumptions, and supporting schedules
- Own financial planning and forecasting for R&D, including headcount planning and long-range projections
- Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, identifying business drivers and communicating explanations
- Manage quarterly reviews of Product P&Ls to evaluate spending, resource allocation, and performance
- Own end-to-end management of AWS cloud spend: track actuals vs budget, analyze cost drivers and usage trends, partner with engineering on priorities, and recommend optimization opportunities
- Translate analytical findings into practical, data-driven recommendations
Execution & Collaboration:
- Personally prepare deliverables with thorough self-review before submission
- Maintain calendar of recurring responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Work through unfamiliar tasks through research, focused questions, and follow-through
- Collaborate effectively across Israel and US with agreed working-hour overlap
- Continuously improve recurring processes while maintaining reliable delivery
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience in both accounting operations and financial planning & analysis
- Strong practical accounting knowledge: close activities, AP, payroll, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience with Israeli accounting and payroll processes and coordinating with local external advisers
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills: financial modeling, formula troubleshooting, data reconciliation
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, management reporting, and variance analyses
- Ability to support and develop a Staff Accountant through detailed review, clear feedback, and hands-on problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and reliable follow-through
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Hebrew
PREFERRED:
- Israeli CPA qualification
- Experience in technology or SaaS company
- Experience supporting global finance teams and preparing investor reporting
