Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Field Service Representative to join the Deployment Operations group's Counter Intrusion team in Costa Mesa, California. This role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
As a Technical Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying and supporting Anduril's advanced defense products globally. You will work with military systems early in their lifecycle, collaborating with engineering teams to iteratively improve products based on field experience. The role demands both technical expertise and adaptability—you'll master complex systems, then transition to mastering the next one.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute technical operations and field maintenance for military defense projects
- Provide customer field support and training on product employment and troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues in unstructured field environments
- Communicate field issue status to internal and customer teams
- Support operational and logistical planning for deployment events
- Ensure high availability and performance of defense systems
- Conduct incident response root-cause analyses and post-incident reviews
- Maintain comprehensive documentation
- Advise account managers on operational structuring for technical success
- Communicate product refinement recommendations to engineering teams
Required qualifications include 3+ years of problem-solving experience at the hardware/software/networking interface, ability to climb towers for sensor installation and maintenance (cameras, radars, PTUs), strong mechanical aptitude for infrastructure troubleshooting (generators, solar systems, hydraulics), preventative maintenance experience on tower structures, operation of specialized equipment (aerial lifts, forklifts), willingness to travel to remote regions for up to two months at a time (50%+ annually), ability to relocate to Costa Mesa if not local, and eligibility for U.S. Top Secret/Secret clearance.
Preferred qualifications include a B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or related field; tower climbing certifications (Tower Climbing, OSHA 10/30); valid Commercial Driver's License; knowledge of IP networking and Linux command line; cross-functional collaboration skills; and prior military or overseas contracting experience.
