Via Transportation is seeking a Field Operations Manager to lead daily operations for its Student Transit service in the Seattle-Tacoma-Federal Way region. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role requiring 4-5 days per week onsite. You will be responsible for running daily onsite operations to ensure safe, reliable, and accessible student transportation. Key responsibilities include making real-time decisions about driver supply, compliance, and student needs; managing unexpected operational issues; building and supporting driver relationships; translating student and district feedback into operational improvements; leveraging data and technology to diagnose problems and enhance service efficiency; and serving as a bridge between school partners, drivers, and Via's central teams. The role requires someone with operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work. You should be relationship-oriented, earning trust through clear communication and follow-through. The ideal candidate is hands-on and proactive, preferring field-based problem-solving, capable of both tactical issue resolution and strategic long-term planning, and mission-driven by the impact of student transportation on education and life outcomes. This position offers a salary range of $65,000–$75,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including free medical plans and 401(k) matching. Via is a leading transportation technology provider serving hundreds of agency partners globally, transforming public transit systems into smart, data-driven networks.
