Mistral is seeking a Field CTO for the APAC region to serve as a senior external technical voice and trusted advisor to enterprise executives. This role combines technical credibility with executive engagement, positioning you as a peer to enterprise boards, CIOs, and CTOs across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Engagement: Run Mistral's Executive Briefing Center with the regional VP, building and sustaining trusted-advisor relationships with C-level stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, VP Engineering) at strategic accounts across APAC.
Thought Leadership: Publish regularly on enterprise AI strategy through articles, whitepapers, and market analysis. Brief analyst firms (Gartner, Forrester) on Mistral's roadmap and market position. Track frontier AI research and integrate it into customer conversations.
Conference & Event Presence: Represent Mistral at major industry events through keynotes, panels, and roundtables. Build a public presence that generates inbound interest from enterprise executives and the AI community.
Market Feedback: Translate insights from executive conversations into product direction. Identify patterns across accounts regarding governance requirements and deployment constraints, and communicate these to Mistral's product and engineering teams.

Requirements:
- 10–25 years of experience in enterprise technology
- Demonstrable credibility in the AI field with a public track record (published papers, articles, or talks reflecting a clear, defensible position)
- A stated public position on open-weight models and their enterprise implications, aligned with Mistral's technical brand
- Fluency in European data sovereignty and on-premise deployment at a level that withstands scrutiny from CTOs and VP Engineers
- Ability to engage C-level stakeholders across multiple verticals on both technical architecture and business strategy
- Cross-vertical fluency across financial services, manufacturing, defense, and energy without requiring deep domain specialization
- Comfortable with 30–50% travel depending on region
- Prior roles such as Field CTO, Principal Architect, VP Engineering at major cloud or AI companies, or founder with demonstrated technical credibility and executive relationships
Nice to Have:
- Existing network of CTO and CIO relationships at enterprise accounts in APAC
- Prior Field CTO or equivalent externally facing technical role at a major cloud or AI company
- Fluency in multiple languages spoken across the region
