Johnson & Johnson's Shockwave Medical division is seeking a Field Clinical Specialist to provide case support for physicians in designated territories. The role focuses on Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology, which treats complex calcified cardiovascular disease using proprietary sonic pressure wave delivery.
You will deliver hands-on support during peripheral and coronary interventional procedures in both pre-market and post-market phases. Key responsibilities include conducting physician and hospital staff training on safe and effective device use, presenting clinical study training materials based on investigational plans, managing key study investigators and maintaining relationships with medical advisors and clinical leaders, and partnering with clinical research colleagues to meet field business needs including site retraining, data collection, and issue resolution.
Additional duties encompass administrative activities such as procedure training coordination, territory travel management, and budget oversight. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities, often independently or as part of cross-functional teams. The role requires significant travel (>50% of time) and the ability to work effectively in a remote manner. You may be required to lift objects up to 40 lbs and work in both temperature-controlled office and non-temperature-controlled warehouse spaces.
Shockwave Medical is pioneering the development and commercialization of IVL technology to establish a new standard of care for treating atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in business, science, nursing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years' direct experience supporting interventional or surgical procedures within a hospital setting, OR 1 year of industry/hospital-based life sciences sales support experience
- Working knowledge of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials
- History of effective collaboration with regulatory agencies through clinical studies and market releases
- Product knowledge including product vigilance and medical device reporting
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with MS Office products (word processing, spreadsheets)
- Finance and budgeting knowledge
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Excellent critical thinking, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on experience with proactive "can do" attitude
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills at all customer and management levels
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
- Cardiovascular industry experience preferred but not required
