MinIO is seeking a Field Architect (Federal) to serve as the technical bridge between MinIO's data and memory platform and the mission requirements of federal customers across Department of War, Intelligence Community, and civilian agencies.
You will architect AIStor deployments spanning on-premises, air-gapped, sovereign cloud, and tactical edge environments. Your responsibilities include designing erasure coding, tiering, and replication topologies; serving as the technical authority on federal compliance frameworks (FIPS 140-3, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust); leading Proofs of Value and technical demonstrations; and enabling federal resellers, systems integrators, and technology ecosystem partners through training and architecture guidance.
You will work closely with the Federal Partner Sales team, Engineering, Support, channel partners, systems integrators, and technology ecosystem partners (NVIDIA, Databricks, Supermicro) to ensure customer success from PoV through production and beyond, including in air-gapped, classified, and DDIL (Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, Limited) environments.
Key focus areas include architecting data infrastructure for AI training, fine-tuning, and large-scale data lake workloads; advising on inference and agentic AI enablement to reduce recompute overhead and maximize GPU utilization; guiding Kubernetes deployments across federal distributions (OpenShift, Rancher); and developing reference architectures, technical white papers, and solution briefs.
MinIO's platform unifies every layer of the data stack from agentic and inference context memory to tables and objects across core, edge, and cloud, and is trusted by 77% of the Fortune 100.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years in a solutions architect, sales engineering, or field engineering role, preferably in cloud, storage, or federal systems integration
- Active security clearance strongly preferred; ability to obtain a clearance required
- Deep technical knowledge of object storage (S3-compatible platforms), Kubernetes, and cloud-native/on-premises hybrid architectures
- Familiarity with GPU-accelerated infrastructure and data/memory demands of AI training and inference workloads at scale
- Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FIPS 140-3, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP) and DoW/IC deployment environments (air-gapped, classified, DDIL)
- Strong technical acumen with ability to communicate complex architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working through or alongside channel partners, FSIs, and technology ecosystem partners (e.g., NVIDIA, Databricks) is a plus
