Quadric is seeking a Field Application Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers and the company's innovative general-purpose neural processing unit (GPNPU) platform. The GPNPU is a co-optimized hardware and software solution designed to run neural network inference workloads across edge and endpoint devices, from battery-operated smart sensors to high-performance autonomous vehicle systems. Unlike competing NPU solutions, Quadric's architecture executes both NN graph code and conventional C++ DSP and control code.
In this role, you will provide pre- and post-sales technical support, working closely with Business Development, Product, and Engineering teams. You'll conduct remote and on-site customer training, deliver technical presentations, and troubleshoot complex system integration challenges. Key responsibilities include installing and configuring the SDK, analyzing customer systems to recommend optimal hardware/software solutions, preparing technical proposals and statements of work, and conducting feasibility studies. You'll establish regular technical discussions with customers, coordinate with Sales and Engineering on application design, and interface with Product Marketing.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering with 3+ years of customer-facing SDK support experience. You must demonstrate proficiency in Python, Docker, Linux/Unix systems, and at least one major ML framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorFlow-Lite). Knowledge of computer vision and software perception systems is required. Additional valuable skills include ONNX runtime experience, parallel C/C++ (CUDA, OpenVX, NEON), and intermediate git workflows. You should be methodical in debugging, capable of relaying technical information to engineering teams, and comfortable with independent work. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential for this Tokyo-based role. Some travel is required.
