Okta is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead the Identity Governance (OIG) team, which owns one of Okta's most critical enterprise workflows: how employees request, approve, and gain access to resources. OIG is a core identity governance and administration solution serving thousands of enterprises.
In this role, you will manage a team of elite engineers responsible for designing and building identity governance product features across different access governance personas. You will establish clear priorities, expectations, and accountability for your team members while driving engineering best practices and productivity enhancements. Your responsibilities include collaborating with product management to define and refine the product roadmap, driving execution and delivery of high-quality features through cross-functional coordination with system architects, QA, product, and documentation teams, and providing regular technical guidance and mentoring.
You will foster a collaborative, engaging, and inclusive team environment while sourcing and hiring qualified individuals with attention to diversity and inclusion. This is an opportunity to shape how enterprises manage access governance at scale, with your work directly impacting thousands of users daily.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of enterprise cloud software development experience, 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience, and proven ability to work with product and program managers on objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risk. You should have experience handling support tickets, bug fixes, and enhancement work in large enterprise applications, excellent communication and collaboration skills for technical discussions, ability to work effectively with distributed teams, and demonstrated capability to lead, recruit, mentor, and retain engineers.
