You will join the claims team as an Express Claims Advocate, focusing on Commercial General Liability claims with lower complexity and fast resolution timelines. In this role, you'll manage the full lifecycle of assigned claims: investigate and resolve general liability claims within your authority, evaluate coverage based on policy terms and applicable law, and settle claims while protecting customer interests and adhering to company claims philosophy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage, investigate, and resolve commercial general liability property damage claims, evaluating coverage, liability, damages, and settlement authority
- Recommend case resolutions that exceed your authority to local claims management
- Evaluate insurance coverage based on claim reports, policy language, investigation findings, and applicable statutes and case law
- Communicate with policyholders, witnesses, and claimants to gather information and advise on proper course of action
- Respond to written and telephone inquiries with status reports
- Comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements across applicable jurisdictions
- Meet quality assurance standards and performance goals while managing high-volume claims
You'll need at least 2+ years of claims handling experience, including coverage and liability evaluation. A Bachelor's degree is typically required. Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills are essential. You must be proficient with Mac systems, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office. Candidates must have or be able to promptly obtain a Texas Independent Adjuster License.
