DTX Pharma (a Novartis company) seeks an experienced analytical development scientist to support gene therapy product characterization and development. As a key member of the Analytical Development Bioassay team, you will design, plan, and execute scientific experiments and GMP testing to characterize gene therapy products using cell-based and plate-based assays (ELISA, MSD, high-content imaging, luminescent/fluorescent plate readers, flow cytometry, PCR).
Key responsibilities include: developing and validating novel analytical assays and GMP-compliant methodologies for pipeline gene therapy products; designing and performing product characterization studies; identifying and implementing technical solutions to complex R&D challenges; driving project timelines and deliverables while maintaining quality and data integrity; authoring and reviewing method development reports, SOPs, validation reports, and regulatory documents; collaborating across functional teams to advance manufacturing processes; and staying current with emerging analytical technologies for cell and gene therapy.
You will work independently to identify new scientific technologies and instrumentation that could improve development workflows, while coaching team members and contributing to global technical strategies. The role requires strong expertise in analytical method development and validation, deep understanding of gene biology and drug product development, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments. Experience with AAV or LVV analytics is preferred; familiarity with AI applications in daily work is a plus.
This is a dual-level posting (Expert or Senior Expert) assessed based on qualifications. Expert level requires a Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, or related field with 2+ years of industry experience (5+ years preferred with BS, 2+ with MS, 1+ with PhD). Senior Expert level requires Bachelor's with 4+ years of industry experience (5+ with BS, 4+ with MS, 3+ with PhD preferred).
