Anduril Industries is seeking an Experimental Test Pilot to support the development and field testing of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including the Fury developmental aircraft platform. This role sits at the intersection of flight operations, engineering, and product development for cutting-edge autonomous defense systems.
You will prepare aircraft for flight, conduct flight tests as the test pilot, and collaborate closely with the test engineering team throughout product development. Key responsibilities include:
• Participate in design reviews and working groups for the Fury UAS platform
• Develop and execute system test procedures in laboratory and open-air environments
• Conduct ground and flight testing to verify compliance with specifications, airworthiness, and operational suitability
• Work directly with Flight Test Engineers, Discipline Engineers, and the Director of Flight Operations to design safe, effective test procedures
• Hold an advisory position on safety reviews, design reviews, and airworthiness reviews
• Author flight procedures, develop emergency procedures, and lead test team training
• Review and approve test procedures, flight test plans, flight test cards, operating limitations, and support documents
• Attend configuration control meetings and provide input on change requests, prioritization, and verification requirements
• Solve technical and execution challenges with creative, action-oriented solutions
• Travel as required to support off-site aircraft testing
This is a senior individual contributor role that guides and mentors the test team while maintaining direct responsibility for safe flight operations. You will interface regularly with leadership including the Head of Test, Chief Engineer, and customer representatives.
