Salary: USD 95,000 - 230,000 / annual

Answer Engineering, a Re:Build Manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Stress Analysis Engineer to join its aerospace design and analysis team. Re:Build Manufacturing operates an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform serving aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics sectors, with a mission to revitalize American manufacturing. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of aerospace structures, leading teams of junior engineers through all program phases including concept design, prototyping, detailed analysis, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, testing, and flight operations. You will use CAD and Finite Element Analysis programs (FEMAP, NASTRAN) to translate conceptual designs into reality, developing finite element models and delivering analysis results and presentations to customers. Key responsibilities include: analyzing primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems; creating and delivering FEA models and customer presentations; communicating across engineering disciplines to drive program-critical decisions; identifying core issues and developing solutions with clear cross-functional impact; mentoring and collaborating with internal and external engineers; developing supporting analysis materials and optimization trades; and supporting program management, design, and manufacturing teams. You will bring 5+ years of proven stress analysis experience, an engineering degree (preferably mechanical or aerospace), and demonstrated expertise designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies. Proficiency with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or equivalent FEA software is required. Additional valued qualifications include systems analysis experience (flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics), dynamic and thermal analysis, Excel and MATLAB proficiency, CAD expertise (CATIA, Solidworks), classic hand analysis methods, laminate plate theory, aerospace materials knowledge, hands-on machining and composite experience, structural testing background, and comfort with military/DoD projects.
