OpenAI is seeking an Events Manager to support the planning and execution of high-touch creator, press, and executive-facing events. Working under the Event Management Lead, you will own critical workstreams across guest experience, front-of-house operations, vendor coordination, production logistics, and post-event reporting.
You will manage end-to-end event execution, including workstream planning, agency management, registration, guest experience, catering, production logistics, and onsite operations. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive project timelines and tracking milestones; sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating with vendors (caterers, AV providers, creative production teams) while ensuring adherence to OpenAI's standards and compliance; overseeing attendee registration and event communications; maintaining financial records and monitoring budgets; collaborating with internal stakeholders (design, procurement, security) to align event elements with strategic goals; implementing safety and security protocols; and collecting, analyzing, and reporting event metrics and attendee feedback.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, polished under pressure, and experienced in building white-glove experiences for high-profile guests. You should bring excellent judgment, a strong hospitality mindset, and a keen eye for details that make events feel seamless and elevated. The role is based onsite in San Francisco with occasional travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of event production experience, managing end-to-end planning, onsite execution, and post-event analysis
- Demonstrated ability to lead guest experience and front-of-house operations for high-profile corporate events
- Strong vendor coordination and creative production management skills
- Passion for OpenAI's mission and AI technology
