Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Equipment Specialist to join its Maritime Division manufacturing site in Quonset, RI. This role owns the lifecycle of major facility and capital equipment at a multi-product manufacturing site, reporting directly to the Factory Manager.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a site-wide preventive maintenance program, establishing PM schedules and procedures, and driving accountability across all business lines. The role requires building a culture where preventive maintenance is treated as non-negotiable, addressing a historical underinvestment in PM discipline.
As the technical subject matter expert on major facility and monument-level capital equipment, you will provide expertise during equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification. You will maintain comprehensive understanding of all critical equipment on site, including operational capabilities, maintenance requirements, and lifecycle status.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the full CapEx planning lifecycle from identifying needs through procurement and validation; serving as the escalation point for complex equipment issues; managing inspection cycles to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards; supporting training program development for equipment operators and technicians; and owning the creation and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for major equipment across the site.
This position requires someone who combines deep technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment with strong communication skills and organizational credibility to drive behavioral change across multiple teams. The role demands the ability to build systems, hold people accountable, and keep a growing factory running reliably.
