Blueland is seeking a Director of Enterprise Systems to serve as the company's first dedicated enterprise systems and IT leader, reporting to the CFO. This is a hands-on builder role that combines strategic direction-setting with day-to-day execution. You will own Blueland's enterprise systems roadmap, NetSuite platform, IT operations, and vendor relationships while partnering closely with Finance, Operations, Data & Analytics, and other functions to improve business processes and ensure reliable, secure technology infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: **NetSuite & Business Process Management:** Serve as the primary business systems owner for NetSuite, partnering with Finance and Operations to identify pain points and translate requirements into scalable solutions. Own the NetSuite enhancement roadmap including configuration, workflows, reporting, and integrations. Manage the NetSuite managed service provider, handle routine administration and troubleshooting, and oversee integrations with e-commerce, EDI, 3PL/fulfillment, and other enterprise applications. Establish governance over roles, permissions, and system changes. Partner with Data & Analytics on master data governance and lead testing, documentation, training, and change management for significant enhancements. **Enterprise Systems Roadmap & Project Pipeline:** Own the enterprise systems project pipeline from business need through implementation and optimization. Establish an intake and prioritization process for systems requests. Work directly with functional leaders to define problems, business requirements, expected value, and recommended solutions. Maintain visibility into the roadmap, priorities, status, dependencies, risks, and costs. Lead systems implementations, coordinate vendors and business owners, and drive adoption post-launch while measuring business outcomes. **Day-to-Day IT Operations:** Serve as the primary internal point of contact for employee IT needs. Manage and resolve routine IT requests, escalating specialized issues to external partners. Build a scalable IT ticketing and support process with clear service expectations and escalation paths. Own employee technology onboarding and offboarding, provision user access across applications, maintain documentation of users, systems, devices, and licenses. Coordinate device procurement and lifecycle management. Develop repeatable processes and self-service documentation to reduce recurring support needs. **IT Vendors & Technology Management:** Own relationships with IT MSP, NetSuite MSP, and other enterprise technology vendors. Serve as the point of accountability for vendor performance, cost-effectiveness, and delivery against priorities. Manage vendors throughout their lifecycle including evaluation, contracting, implementation, performance monitoring, and renewal. Maintain a centralized inventory of vendors, systems, licenses, contracts, and renewal dates. Partner with Finance on technology spend management and coordinate with cybersecurity partners on security standards. **Enterprise Applications & Governance:** Serve as the internal owner or governance lead for core enterprise applications. Administer applications directly where appropriate and establish clear business and technical ownership. Manage user access, permissions, licensing, and configuration. Establish documentation and change-management standards. Evaluate new systems based on business need, integration requirements, security, scalability, and total cost of ownership. Identify and implement opportunities to leverage automation and AI within enterprise platforms. As Blueland's first dedicated Enterprise Systems hire, you will both set direction and execute. Initially, you will personally handle many day-to-day activities while leveraging managed service providers and external partners for specialized support. Over time, you will help determine the right internal and external resources to scale the function. **Requirements:** - 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise systems, business applications, ERP, IT/business technology, or related roles - Strong hands-on NetSuite experience, ideally supporting both Finance and Operations in a growing organization - Strong understanding of business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, fulfillment, and financial close - Experience administering enterprise applications and troubleshooting day-to-day systems issues - Experience managing NetSuite consultants, MSPs, technology vendors, and other external technical resources - Experience leading systems implementations and integrations from requirements through go-live and ongoing optimization - Strong project management skills and ability to manage a portfolio of competing systems priorities - Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve business processes, systems administration, or employee productivity - Working knowledge of IT fundamentals including user provisioning, identity and access management, endpoint/device management, SaaS administration, and IT support processes - Strong business judgment and ability to distinguish between problems requiring technology investment versus process changes - Ability to translate between business and technical audiences - Experience in consumer products, retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel environment strongly preferred - Familiarity with e-commerce, EDI, 3PL/fulfillment, and related integrations strongly preferred
