Banyan Software is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect to define and evolve the enterprise architecture of Banyan HQ. This is a strategic technology leadership role responsible for owning the current-state and target-state architecture for the corporate technology stack, building roadmaps, standards, and integration patterns that enable a fast-growing, acquisition-driven organization to scale without accumulating complexity. The role combines hands-on architecture leadership across identity, collaboration, business systems, and data platforms with ownership of AI infrastructure and architectural foundations that make intelligent, agent-ready systems possible across HQ. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Architecture: Define and maintain current-state and target-state architecture for HQ systems and build transition roadmaps aligned with business goals. Establish architecture principles, reference patterns, and technology standards, running a lightweight review process that guides decisions without slowing teams. Design and govern integrations across the core stack (Microsoft 365, Okta, NetSuite, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, and related SaaS platforms), ensuring reliable data flow and clean system boundaries. Work closely with the Director of Security to achieve zero-trust network vision and architect supporting platforms including MDM, Zscaler VPN/ZTNA, and endpoint security. AI-Native Architecture & Infrastructure: Make AI-native a standing architectural principle where every new system, integration, and platform decision is evaluated for how well it exposes data, APIs, and workflows to AI and agentic tooling. Own the architecture of infrastructure supporting enterprise AI adoption, including model and API access (Anthropic Claude and similar platforms), MCP and connector ecosystems, orchestration and automation layers, and surrounding identity, logging, and cost controls. Collaborate on the design of Consolidated Data Platforms, architecting the data layer that AI depends on: clean systems of record, well-defined data contracts, retrieval-ready knowledge sources, and permission-aware access. Design business processes and system integrations so they can be safely executed or assisted by AI agents, with clear human-in-the-loop checkpoints, auditability, and rollback paths. Partner with Security and Legal to define guardrails for enterprise AI use including data classification, acceptable use, vendor and model evaluation, and monitoring. Technology Planning & Lifecycle Management: Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors, making clear business-grounded recommendations on adopt, hold, or retire, with AI capability as a first-class evaluation criterion. Lead rationalization of overlapping tools and platforms, quantifying cost, risk, and complexity trade-offs. Maintain architectural documentation and system-of-record diagrams. Partner with IT, Security, and Finance on capacity, licensing, and total cost of ownership planning. Banyan Technology Leadership: Contribute to enterprise-wide technology strategy, working closely with the Head of IT, Director of Security, and Lead AI Architect. Translate architecture into business terms, communicating value, risk, and trade-offs clearly to executive stakeholders. Promote an architecture-aware, AI-forward culture. Mentor IT staff on architecture thinking, AI fluency, and best practices. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise or solution architecture, ideally in SaaS or high-growth organizations - Proven success developing current-state and target-state architectures and transition roadmaps, and gaining endorsement from executive stakeholders - Demonstrated experience architecting for enterprise AI adoption: LLM platforms and APIs, agentic and automation frameworks, retrieval and knowledge architectures, and surrounding identity, security, and cost controls - Deep expertise with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, or similar); certification preferred - Strong experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure) and modern SaaS-first, API-driven architectures - Hands-on familiarity with identity and integration platforms (Okta or similar IdP, iPaaS/middleware, ERP and CRM ecosystems such as NetSuite and Salesforce) - Strong grasp of data architecture as the foundation for AI: data quality, contracts, lineage, and permission-aware access patterns - Strong communicator with ability to explain architecture in business terms and build trust with executive leadership - Collaborative, pragmatic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
