Salary: CAD 140,000 - 175,000 / annual
Ranger AI is a venture-backed intelligence platform helping enterprises reindustrialize through digital and AI transformation. The company builds enterprise AI systems for complex industrial workflows, enabling manufacturers, engineering companies, and large enterprises to transform document-heavy processes like tendering, RFPs, proposals, quotations, and engineering workflows through AI agents and intelligent automation.
As an Enterprise AI Engineer — Forward Deployed, you will work directly with enterprise customers to lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact AI solutions. This is a deeply technical, customer-facing role combining software engineering, applied AI, solution architecture, and technical consulting. You'll embed with customer teams, understand their workflows, data, and technical requirements, then translate those challenges into production-ready solutions built on the Ranger platform.
Key responsibilities include engaging directly with enterprise customers to understand complex workflows and technical requirements; architecting, building, and deploying production AI solutions using GenAI, LLM agents, RAG, multimodal models, and enterprise data sources; owning the full customer delivery lifecycle from discovery through production adoption; building and optimizing AI pipelines including data ingestion, retrieval, prompt design, model selection, and observability; developing reliable integrations across enterprise APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure; troubleshooting complex issues across the full stack; acting as a trusted technical advisor to customer teams; and partnering with Ranger's product and engineering teams to turn learnings into platform capabilities.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, full-stack, ML, or applied AI roles; strong customer-facing experience with enterprise technical discovery and implementation; hands-on experience building production applications using LLMs, GenAI, RAG, embeddings, and agents; strong understanding of modern AI application patterns; experience building production systems using APIs, databases, and cloud services; proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerized environments; excellent communication skills; ability to operate in ambiguous environments and own projects end-to-end; willingness to travel to customer sites.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, or Solutions Architect; experience leading technical engagements with large enterprises; expertise with RAG, vector databases, and enterprise search; experience building production AI agents; experience with multimodal AI and document intelligence; familiarity with enterprise security and deployment architecture; experience in startups or high-growth tech companies; and background in industrial, manufacturing, or complex enterprise environments.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Ontario with remote/hybrid options available. The role offers significant ownership over customer solutions and Ranger's Forward Deployed Engineering practice, direct work with major enterprise customers deploying advanced AI to production, and the opportunity to shape the company's technical consulting practice.
