Distyl AI is an applied AI technology company partnering with Fortune 500 institutions across telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, and consumer goods to rearchitect critical operations using frontier AI. The company researches and deploys AI-native operational systems, affecting hundreds of millions of consumer interactions and tens of millions of supply chain transactions. You will serve as a senior Enterprise AI Architect and long-term technical partner to Distyl's most strategic Fortune 500 customers. Operating more like a senior technical advisor than a traditional pre-sales architect, you will build trust with C-suite and technical leaders, bring a strong point of view on where AI creates meaningful business value, shape solutions with customers, and remain accountable for the technical relationship beyond contract signature. The role sits in Engineering and works closely with Go-to-Market, Product, and Forward-Deployed Engineering teams. You will lead the technical arc of accounts from early technology conversations and problem shaping through architecture, feasibility, and statement of work (SOW). For qualified late-stage pursuits, you will partner with forward-deployed engineers to drive implementation. After close, the Technical Delivery Lead owns day-to-day execution while you remain attached for architecture reviews, steering moments, difficult decisions, and expansion opportunities. Key responsibilities include: owning the strategic technical relationship as the primary technical counterpart for strategic accounts, building trust with CIO/CTO-level leaders and business executives; owning architecture, feasibility, prototypes, and technical SOW quality by leading joint solution architecture and validating key assumptions; qualifying opportunities and assessing technical feasibility before Distyl commits to scope; translating recurring customer needs and architecture patterns into reusable technical assets and product feedback; and carrying the technical thread from first conversation through successful delivery while empowering the delivery lead. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who has built and delivered production systems, can command a room with executives, and can translate between business ambition and engineering reality. Success means customers view you as a trusted technical advisor, GTM receives technically credible proposals, and delivery inherits scopes that survive contact with production. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years of relevant experience across engineering, enterprise architecture, forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or similar roles with substantial customer-facing responsibility - Hands-on production delivery experience designing, building, and shipping Enterprise-grade Agentic AI/ML systems; ability to reason credibly about implementation tradeoffs, reliability, integration, scale, security, and operating constraints - Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior technical advisor to executives: building trust, developing a point of view, shaping ambiguous problems, influencing decisions, and handling high-stakes technical conversations - Proven ownership of complex enterprise solution architecture and scope, including ability to write technical SOW content and align customer teams, GTM, and delivery around what is buildable - Ability to work effectively with FDE/Delivery/Product & Strategy teams, bringing them in at the right time and maintaining continuity - Strong working knowledge of APIs, integrations, cloud and enterprise architecture, data flows, security considerations, and modern AI systems; coding fluency to prototype, inspect systems, and engage deeply with engineers - Deep domain expertise in one or more enterprise areas such as customer support, voice, MarTech, Cybersecurity, IAM, or Document processing - Ability to travel 25% and meet onsite with customer teams; able to work from New York or San Francisco office Tuesday–Thursday PREFERRED: - Background in FDE, engineering, or technical consulting where you owned both customer outcomes and technical decisions - Experience in a partner-like role at a consulting firm, high-growth technology company, or enterprise software company with long, C-suite-led sales cycles - Experience at an early-stage startup with comfort operating in ambiguous environments
