Neara is building AI-powered digital twins of electricity grids to help utilities stress-test infrastructure, optimize investments, and build resilience. The company uses advanced machine learning and physics-enabled modeling to simulate extreme weather and structural stress at network-wide scale across four continents.
You will own the go-to-market launch for Neara's new electrical modeling module in the United States. This is a first-specialist-seller role with real ownership of playbook, product strategy, and pipeline development.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive US go-to-market strategy for the electrical modeling module as the industry, business development, and pipeline lead
- Build and execute territory and account strategy: segment the market, prioritize utilities with acute pain points, and land first reference accounts
- Run full sales cycles end-to-end from outbound prospecting through technical evaluation, procurement, and close
- Navigate large utility organizations across multiple stakeholder functions (distribution planning, operations, GIS, asset management, engineering, IT, enterprise architecture) to identify where value accrues
- Build the commercial narrative positioning the product as complementary to incumbent tools (CYME, Synergi) and make the integration story credible to all stakeholders
- Partner closely with Head of Product and CTO as the primary channel for market signal, customer feedback, and product-market-fit insights back to engineering
- Cross-sell with existing Enterprise AEs in utility accounts, bringing electrical modeling scope into established Neara relationships
- Collaborate with Marketing on collateral, campaigns, and events targeting planning and IT audiences
- Present at industry conferences and events to promote the electrical modeling portfolio
- Support pricing, packaging, and contracting decisions for the module
- Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory drivers, and customer feedback to continuously refine approach
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years in enterprise sales or business development, with substantial experience selling software, systems, or services into US electric utilities
- Deep experience working within large energy utility organizations: navigated planning, operations, engineering, GIS, asset management, and IT functions; understand budget, procurement, and technical evaluation processes in that environment
- Fluency in utility distribution domain: electrical network modeling, GIS and ADMS integration, system planning and workflow, hosting capacity, DER interconnection. Must be able to master technical conversations with utility personas without requiring a sales engineer
- Track record selling emerging or first-of-kind products where the category is not yet defined and you are creating demand alongside answering RFPs
- Direct experience selling distribution planning or network modeling solutions is a strong plus
- Existing network of relevant relationships across US utilities that can be activated early
- Comfortable multi-threading complex enterprise deals with long sales cycles and many stakeholders; able to communicate clearly from planner to C-suite
- Proven ability to translate market and customer signals into clear product input for technical teams
- Strategic and operationally disciplined: rigorous on pipeline, forecasting, and cadence; able to build structure where none exists
- Comfortable with ambiguity, travel, and high-growth company pace. Understanding of modern sales methodologies and situational application is a plus
