You'll join the core engineering team to design, build, and scale the systems powering the video intelligence platform. Working across AI, product, and infrastructure teams, you'll deliver features that matter in a fast-moving, ambitious environment. Key responsibilities include: - Building and maintaining backend services that ingest, process, and serve video and sensor data at scale - Shipping AI-native features end-to-end: natural-language video search, real-time detections, and agentic workflows built on multimodal LLMs and computer vision - Implementing user-facing frontends in TypeScript/React in close collaboration with product - Designing scalable APIs and systems that interface with ML pipelines and edge device fleets - Contributing to infrastructure and architecture decisions from the ground up - Solving distributed systems, real-time processing, and high-availability challenges Ideal candidates have strong experience with Golang, Python, or C++; modern frontend stacks (TypeScript, React with react-query, Tailwind); and designing scalable backend systems and APIs. You should be comfortable with distributed systems, containers, and cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes on AWS, Pulumi for IaC), fluent with AI-assisted development, and have a Computer Science degree or equivalent from a top university. Startup or scale-up experience building systems from scratch is valued, along with a strong understanding of system performance, reliability, and clean architecture. Coram AI was founded by Ashesh Jain (ex-Lyft Level 5, PhD Cornell) and Peter Ondruska (ex-Lyft, PhD Oxford). The company has raised over $65M from Ansa Capital, Battery Ventures, Mosaic, 8VC, and Up Partners, and was named to CB Insights AI 100 as one of the most promising AI companies globally. The mission is to transform a $50B+ legacy security industry by bringing multimodal LLMs and computer vision to real-world applications—from firearm detection to intelligent access control.
