Supabase is seeking an Engineering Productivity Engineer to join the Engineering Operations team and own the engineering experience from local development through production deployment. You'll build and integrate tools that engineers rely on daily: local development environments, code search, testing infrastructure, code review workflows, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development tools, and productivity metrics. Key responsibilities include: **Local Development & Workflow**: Own local development environment stability, eliminate reproducibility issues across teams, make onboarding self-service, and improve the daily editing experience through IDE tooling, code search, and navigation. Build paved roads through project scaffolding and golden-path workflows. **Build, Test & CI Optimization**: Improve testing tooling and orchestration, profile and optimize build/test performance, parallelize and shard tests, optimize CI pipelines, and integrate automated code review tools. **AI Integration**: Evaluate and integrate AI coding agents and assistants, build skills and extensions that make these tools effective, and measure their real impact on productivity. **Engineering Excellence**: Champion best practices, track productivity metrics (DORA), monitor code-quality signals (coverage, mutation testing), and establish automation to catch issues early. You should have 7+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on developer productivity, infrastructure, or platform engineering. Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and shell is required. Experience with CI/CD systems, local development environments, containerization, AI-assisted tools, test infrastructure, code review tooling, monorepo systems, and developer productivity metrics is essential. You thrive in async, globally distributed environments and are passionate about eliminating friction in the engineering workflow. Supabase is fully remote and globally distributed, with no physical offices. The company provides WeWork memberships, ESOP equity for all team members, tech allowances, comprehensive health benefits, annual company off-sites, flexible async work, and professional development budgets.
