Suno is building the world's first creative entertainment platform for music creation, backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed, and NVIDIA's venture arm. The company is the fastest-growing consumer entertainment company and leader in AI music. You will lead Suno's Social engineering team, a cross-platform group of backend, web, iOS, and Android engineers responsible for the social layer of the platform. The team owns notifications, user profiles, the follow graph, and social engagement features including sharing and comments. You'll work closely with product, design, and data science to discover and deliver features that drive user retention and engagement. This is a high-autonomy role combining product, technical, and people leadership. You'll stay close enough to the code to review decisions and multiply technical ownership across your team. Key responsibilities include: - Leading a small team of fullstack product engineers who own Suno's social layer - Growing the team through hiring, development, and performance management - Setting technical direction for social systems at scale, guiding architecture for the follow graph, notifications, and profiles - Championing mobile-first API design - Partnering with product, design, and data science on roadmap ideation and discovering emergent social behaviors - Shipping retention-driving features with end-to-end rigor: metrics, logging, dogfooding, and post-launch follow-up - Advancing Suno's mission of making creative fulfillment a daily reality The role requires working onsite at the NYC office five days per week. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US. REQUIREMENTS Must-Haves: - 5–7 years in software engineering, including 2–4 years managing engineers (hiring, developing, running performance cycles) - Genuine, demonstrable intuition for social products and network effects; you're a real user and first-principles thinker about what makes products sticky and how to grow networks without collapsing context - Enough technical depth to guide architecture and stay hands-on; you can review code, weigh trade-offs, and jump into the codebase when needed - Track record of creating structure in ambiguous, 0→1 environments, ideally shipping consumer social products at startup pace - Strong asynchronous, cross-functional communication skills that reduce ambiguity - A love of music (listening, exploring, making) Nice-to-Haves: - Experience on a growth team - Founding or 0→1 experience inside a larger organization - Fullstack range across mobile, web, and backend - Familiarity with network-effects and engagement-mechanics literature
