Salary: USD 210,000 - 240,000 / annual

As Engineering Manager for the Segmentation team, you will lead a team of backend engineers building the scalable, reliable systems powering Attentive's platform. You'll balance people leadership, technical direction, and execution while partnering closely with Product and other engineering teams to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing and growing a high-performing engineering team, guiding technical and architectural decisions, creating clarity around complex initiatives, and ensuring systems and engineering practices evolve as the company scales. You'll manage the full lifecycle of team development—hiring, coaching, feedback, and performance management—while maintaining hands-on technical leadership. The role requires 2+ years of experience managing software engineers and 7+ years of professional software engineering experience. You'll need a strong technical foundation in backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and scalable application architecture. Experience building and operating high-volume production systems with focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability is essential. The tech stack includes Java and Spring Boot microservices, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes on AWS EKS, Istio, Datadog, Terraform, and event-driven systems processing large data volumes. You'll guide technical tradeoffs, lead complex initiatives from design through production, and foster cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders. Experience with modern development practices and AI-powered engineering tools is valued.
