Crusoe is seeking an Engineering Manager for the SDN Control Plane team to lead development of the scalable control plane for VPC networking in Crusoe Cloud. This is a hands-on leadership role managing mid-level to senior distributed systems engineers building services that program multi-tenant virtual networks across large-scale GPU fleets. You will own the technical roadmap for the VPC control plane and drive evolution of network virtualization systems (OVN/OVS) delivering VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancing, NAT, and connectivity. You'll contribute to designing distributed control-plane services including intent APIs, state reconciliation, network policy compilation, and southbound programming of hosts and DPUs, while driving scalability beyond current fleet size. Responsibilities include supporting reliability engineering, convergence and API-latency benchmarking, regression prevention, and incident response within 3-6 month execution cycles. You'll mentor and grow your team, set technical standards, and foster a high-performance culture of accountability. Close collaboration with data-plane teams (XDP/eBPF, DPDK, DPU offload) and cloud product teams is essential to deliver low-latency, highly available networking for multi-tenant GPU clusters. Required: 6-8+ years in distributed systems or cloud networking engineering, with 2-4+ years managing engineering talent. Strong knowledge of SDN and network virtualization (overlay networking, VPC constructs, routing, control-plane architectures). Hands-on experience building large-scale control planes with state reconciliation, consensus trade-offs, API design, and fleet-wide configuration propagation. Deep understanding of operating multi-tenant cloud services: SLOs, convergence-time benchmarking, graceful degradation, and blast-radius containment. Execution mindset to resolve complex technical challenges in fast-moving environments. Bonus: Experience with DPU/SmartNIC-programmed dataplanes, cloud load balancing or NAT at scale, network security policy engines, or open-source contributions to OVN/OVS.
