Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing remote cybersecurity company on a mission to help organizations proactively discover and remediate exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. The flagship NodeZero platform delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and security assessments that scale across internal, external, cloud, and hybrid environments, serving organizations from educational institutions to Global 100 enterprises. As Engineering Manager for Rapid Response, you will lead and mentor a team of Attack Engineers specializing in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development. You'll manage engineers across multiple seniority levels, from junior engineers to Principal Attack Engineers, ensuring appropriate career development and growth paths. You'll set technical direction, priorities, and quality standards for vulnerability research and attack module development while fostering a culture of continuous learning and raising the bar for offensive rigor and secure software development practices. Key responsibilities include owning the delivery strategy for vulnerability research, patch-diffing, and rapid N-Day weaponization. You'll guide end-to-end exploit methodologies, overseeing reverse engineering of application binaries and patches (Java, C#, .NET, native binaries), ensuring rapid and safe development of proof-of-concept exploits for product integration, and managing test system acquisition and configuration. You'll maintain a comprehensive global view of emerging vulnerabilities and threat landscapes, create tight feedback loops for swift weaponization and integration, and manage operational cadences for rapid response to high-priority emerging vulnerabilities. You bring 2-3+ years of direct people management experience, 3+ years of software development experience, and 5+ years leading offensive security, vulnerability research, or red teams. You have deep expertise in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development, with in-depth knowledge of common exploitation techniques and strong understanding of network protocols and virtualization. You're proficient in production software engineering (ideally Python), familiar with secure development practices and Git workflows, and capable of evaluating technical designs. Experience with IDA/Ghidra, vulnerability disclosure processes, CVEs, bug bounties, C/C++/Rust/Assembly, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS, and security certifications like OSCP are desirable. The company is fully remote with up to 10% travel required. Horizon3.ai offers competitive salary and equity, comprehensive health/vision/dental insurance, flexible vacation, generous parental leave, and a collaborative culture emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
