Float is hiring a Founding Lead to own and accelerate Float Intelligence end-to-end—a new agentic AI product that automates financial work for Canadian businesses. Float Intelligence handles transaction coding, receipt chasing, spend policy compliance, and invoice gathering from inboxes and vendor portals. The company shipped an initial version in 2024 and is now scaling rapidly.
You will lead a small, fast-moving team of product engineers and data/ML engineers, reporting directly to the Head of Product. This is a hybrid seat spanning engineering and product leadership. You own the roadmap for Float Intelligence, make technical decisions (model choice, evaluation strategy, infrastructure for scale and latency), and decide what gets built and how.
Key responsibilities include: leading and developing the team; owning the AI roadmap alongside the Head of Product; taking products from zero to one through proof-of-concept to customer-facing scale; making technical calls on models, LLMs, and evaluation design; building shared platform layers (extraction, evaluation, observability, agent frameworks, data pipelines) that other product teams leverage; equipping internal teams with AI models and engines; partnering with product managers to ensure clean handoffs; and deciding what to stop when exploratory work isn't paying off.
